Scripture: "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do." — Romans 7:15 Are we existing or living? I recently came across a breakdown of how the average person spends the 168 hours in a week. 40 hours working 56 hours sleeping 7 hours exercising 20 hours with family at home That leaves 45 hours remaining. Even if we add another 10 hours for commuting and 20 hours for household responsibilities, we still have 15 hours left each week.

Scripture: "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." — Psalm 147:3 My son and I were driving to our weekly movie night with friends when we started talking about the newest health concern making its way through several states—Cyclospora. The conversation immediately reminded him of a previous illness that had hit both of us pretty hard. Apparently, that experience left enough of an impression that we've developed a shared condition known as "Tea Leaves Syndrome.

Doing a task simply to check it off a list may make us feel accomplished for a moment, but it often leaves us feeling empty in the long run.

Scripture "You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love."-Galatians 5:13 As our nation celebrates 250 years of freedom, I've found myself thinking about just how much we value liberty. We celebrate the courage of those who fought for our independence. We fly our flags, gather with family, and watch fireworks burst across the night sky as a reminder that freedom is something wor

God calls us to be intentional. He calls us to think carefully, plan wisely, and pursue goals with purpose instead of rushing ahead impulsively.

Intentional living means taking inventory of what truly matters and making purposeful choices to prioritize those things in our daily lives. We have to choose what matters most.

As believers, we should strive to make prayer our first response rather than our last resort. Before reacting, deciding, or moving forward, we should pause and seek God's presence and guidance. When we commit our plans to Him, He illuminates the path before us and helps us walk in step with His purpose for our lives.

Sometimes, you will find yourself in a season of quietness. You aren’t sure if you are doing the right thing, going the correct way, or if you have lost direction. In those moments, you can be at risk of Satan sending discouragement. When those intrusive and unwelcome thoughts creep in, press into God’s word. Ask Him to remind you of who you are and what His purpose is for you.

Through seasons of uncertainty and unexpected change, God remains faithful in guiding our steps. This devotional is a gentle reminder that even when our plans shift, His purpose for our lives remains steady.
