Book Review: Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly
The historical detail throughout this book is remarkable. Kelly brings this period to life in a way that is both fascinating and deeply disturbing. There were moments when I found myself awestruck by the courage and resilience of the women who endured unimaginable suffering. There were other moments when I was horrified by the cruelty and twisted thinking that allowed such atrocities to occur.
