Summer at The Lavender Hazel: Sunday Brunch Playlist:

I've always believed that a great playlist is to a gathering what a soundtrack is to a movie.

Think about your favorite films for a moment. The music is often what transforms an ordinary scene into something unforgettable. It makes the romantic moments feel more romantic, the dramatic moments feel more intense, and the heartbreaking moments capable of bringing real tears. Without the soundtrack, the story simply wouldn't have the same impact.

Gatherings around the table are much the same.

The food may bring people together, but the music helps create the atmosphere. It fills the quiet spaces between conversations, sets the tone for the day, and becomes part of the memory itself. Years later, hearing a particular song can instantly transport us back to a summer morning spent laughing with friends over coffee or sharing stories with family around the table.

When I created the Brunch at The Lavender Hazel playlist, I wanted it to feel like the soundtrack to a perfect summer brunch. The songs are mostly mellow, yet they carry an uplifting rhythm that encourages you to slow down and savor the moment. I intentionally chose classics with a history songs that have stood the test of time and continue to resonate generation after generation.

From the timeless elegance of Édith Piaf and Louis Armstrong to the smooth charm of Frank Sinatra and the unforgettable voice of Etta James, these songs tell stories of their own. Together, they create a soundtrack for lingering conversations, fresh flowers on the table, warm pastries from the oven, and a second cup of coffee enjoyed without hurry.
